ANZAC Service of Commemoration

April 25 @ 10:00 am - 10:30 am

The service onboard HMS M.33 from last year’s Anzac Day

ANZAC day commemoration and wreath laying service on HMS M33

The National Museum of the Royal Navy will join the Nation, and our Commonwealth partners Australia and New Zealand, on the anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign 1915, in commemorating all those who served and sacrificed so that we can live in peace. The service will take place onboard the historic ship HMS M.33, a monitor which served at Gallipoli, Turkey, in 1915.

Join us on this important day of commemoration and take the opportunity to see a Victoria Cross awarded to one of the Royal Marines finest, Walter Richard Parker, who served at Gallipoli in 1915. Which has not been on display since 2017.

There will be a bugler to sound the silence and Reveille and a piper to pipe the still. Matthew Sheldon (CEO of The National Museum of the Royal Navy) will deliver an address.

For access to this service you will need a site pass which can be collected from our visitor centre upon arrival.
